The Standing Committee has resolved that “the Uniting Church SA move from the existing three year Code of Ethics refresher training cycle to an annual cycle”.
This change brings us into closer alignment with other Synods with the expectation of regular attendance.
This not only for best practice and up skilling, but to maintain the ‘good standing’ of those in placements, awaiting placement, offering supply, serving on Presbytery & Synod committees and any other ministry roles.
WHEN
Within each topic cycle, there will be opportunities to participate.
Training Dates for face to face and online sessions are schedule to accommodate expected demand.
Face to face: Tuesday 8th August. Wednesday 6th September & Thursday 30th November.
Online sessions Wednesday 23rd August, Tuesday 17th October and Thursday 26th October.

WHO
Code of Ethics refresher sessions are provided for Ministers and those in ministry placements.
Participation in Code of Ethics Refreshers is required every year following completion of the full ‘Code of Ethics’ Foundations course run through and at Uniting College.

HOW
Preparation before the session allows for a richer experience and value for reflecting one’s ministry practice in line with the Code of Ethics.
Material is either provided for pre reading or watching with reflection questions. Upon booking, the confirmation letter will provide details on where to find this material and if relevant the password to access the content.
